Warmer Weather

Website Admin Kidzplace - Tuesday, September 15, 2015

We are enjoying some wonderful warm weather this week.  This is a timely reminder to our families to ensure they pack a hat with a wide brim each day their child attends our centre.  Thongs are not a suitable footwear option for childcare in the warmer weather, however, sandals with a back strap are suitable.  It is also time to changeover the spare clothes in your child's backpack.  Please pack spare clothing appropriate to the warmer weather.  All children need to have their own labelled drink bottle with a flip lid.  Thank you for your assistance.

Nature was my Ritalin

"Nature was my ritalin" - What the New York Times isn't telling you about ADHD.

This was an incredible article that is a must read for all parents! You can locate it on www.pathwaystofamilywellness.org

Quote - "Some of the most important work in this arena has been done at the Human-Environment Research  Laboratory at the University of Illonois by Andrew Faber Taylor, Ming (Frances) Kuo, and William C. Sullivan. In a series of studies, they found that green outdoor spaces foster creative play, improve children's access to positive adult interaction - and relieve the symptoms of attention-deficit disorders. The greener the setting, the more relief. by comparison, activities indoors, such as watching TV, or outdoors in paved, non-green areas, leave these children functioning worse. They found that greenery in a child's everyday environment, even views of green through a window, specifically reduces attention-deficit symptoms."

New Year essentials

Website Admin Kidzplace - Thursday, January 08, 2015

Each January and July of every year we ask our parents to please supply a box of tissues. As you can understand there are plenty of noses to be wiped so please donate your tissue box asap and your name will be marked off our master list.

A reminder to all new parents: We cannot stress enough how important it is that you hand in your child's achievement chart (provided to you in your welcome pack in your confirmation interview) on your child's first day. The educators use this to establish an informed relationship with your child, they will know exactly where your child is at developmentally and what they need to incorporate into your child's curriculum/activities to continue progressing from the level that they are already at. We also can't stress how important it is that you also submit family input forms continually so that your child's educator can establish an interest link between home life and care life for your child to further their learning and benefit from the link.

Settling into a new centre can be a stressful time for both the children and their family. Please discuss any concerns you may have your child's educator or management. We are here to help and completely understand how hard it is to leave your bundle of joy in someone else's hands. Please feel free to call as many times as you need to, to check up on your precious little ones.

Welcome Back Kidz Place Family for 2015

Website Admin Kidzplace - Wednesday, January 07, 2015

A huge welcome back to our Kidz Place families! We would also like to welcome our new families to Kidz Place!

We hope you all had an incredible holiday break. It sounds like Santa has spoilt you all and the New Year was celebrated well!

Just a small reminder to put all of the items listed on your "What to bring in your school bag" list in your child's bag each and every day... Everything must be clearly labelled with your child's name to avoid things getting lost! The weather is very hot so please supply your child with a full brim hat, sunscreen if their skin is sensitive and clothes that are able to get wet and muddy (mud patch play) in a large zip lock bag clearly labelled "wet/mud clothes."

It is a must that all parents sunscreen their children before they bring them to Kidz Place as we will be going outside earlier than usual to beat the heat. Of course we will be reapplying however it takes sunscreen 20 mins to activate and soak into their skin, providing full protection.

A water bottle that has a lid (or the straw tucks away) must be supplied everyday also. We do not accept juice of any kind so please only put water in your child's drink bottle.

We are also requiring an updated Family Photo for each child, your child's "All about me" template filled out and returned and family input forms of your holiday break would be fantastic!

We are looking forward to developing a great bond with all of our families again for 2015 and are enjoying getting to know your bundles of joy!
